Semestral Farewell, A Final Treat to the City of Stars
I just woke up past 5 in the afternoon today. It's because I got into bed 7 am in the morning. I literally turned the day into night, for I slept throughout the day. The reason behind this is of something memorable. An experience that engages us into a one-day one-night euphoria. A temporary freedom. I mean freedom from daily tensions and everything. This adventure was very meaningful to us, for this marks the end of their first semester; and for me, it marks the end of my endangered status.
I arrived at the EEE building yesterday around 10 am. I was expecting a smooth-sailing plan waiting ahead for us. This is it! The final presentation for the semester. This was the final mission they need to pass through and they can finally get over with this. And at last, we can finally treat ourselves afterwards into the never-before-planned Star City trek! But for some reason, plans are there to be ruined, delayed. I expected much of the day would be spent on the rides at Star City, for they said that after the presentation we will depart to Star City immediately afterwards. Things seem to be okay until lunch. Everything was finished before the deadline and the final step now is to present their final report. After lunch we headed back immediately to EEE.
They finally finished the presentation around 5. I can't believe how much time I wasted waiting for the stupid presentation to pass. I was anxious with the time, as they were anxious on how to pass with the trouble they unexpectedly faced. As I infer it, it appeared that the professor saved them for last, but it was actually because they couldn't arrive on a solution on how to present their presentations uniquely from each other. What a mess! My friends are actually grouped into three for the presentation, but they seemed to work around as a single group originally. The first group (Pat, Lester) finished the job seemlessly and was done right after lunch. The final two (Jun, Emman, JC / EJ and Tim) faced the 'roadblock', since the prof asked EJ's group to present with Jun's at the same time. Much for everyone's dismay, they coincided into a halt, gather into a discussion on how to work things out, unnoticeably. They were obviously amateurs when it comes to committing 'crime'. When Charles told us that the prof is coming around our place (we're in the 2nd floor lobby of EEE), they ushered into the comfort room to comfort themselves, I mean to discuss the matter in seclusion. Meanwhile, the prof didn't hesitate to throw his time into other matters and before they knew it, they found him currently occupied. And so, that's the reason why the presentation was finally conducted around 4 pm and finished almost 5.
We hurried to reach our next destination as early as possible, and we concluded to travel via railways (rush hour sure is next to traffic on the streets). We first took the LRT2 and our minds were at calm feeling the comfort the carriage provides. Although we are standing, the train is wide enough, and the travel was so smooth that we don't even need to hold on handbars to maintain balance while accelerating/decelerating. I want to mention those two girls that stood beside me with the vertical handrail, for they certainly called some of our group's attention. After that we ended in the Recto terminal heading straight next to the LRT station. (Tim parted ways with us from here since he didn't got permission and pocket money from his parents for our Star City trip. He never actually confirmed that he is coming with us and the LRT2 was just part of his home route.)
We paid for the LRT one peso higher than what we've paid for LRT2 (LRT2=14php; LRT1=15php). But the service seems to be a complete opposite of the LRT2. I thought we already evaded the rush hour on the streets, but to my surprise, the LRT offered the same situation as appalling as the street-smoke-traffic. In exact contrast with what we felt on LRT2, the situation we had from the LRT was intolerable. As the LRT doors welcomed a crowded interior, we couldn't help but force ourself within the chaos. Sweat and odor exchanged through the air, as I realize how diffussion makes a peddler and a businessman the same when put together in a confined space for some time. That was what actually happened to us, but it need not to be worried upon, for our excitement was just getting bigger, and getting chilled in a foul chamber like that is insufficient to put our plans into disarray. Lesson: If you are dressed and don't want to get soiled on your travel, be sure to ride on LRT2. But if you are a streetguy who wants to smell better in the worst possible way, be sure to visit the nearest LRT station to fulfill your need! :p
To the hustle as we arrived to the City of Carnivals! Star City indeed, it was the 2nd time I went here since I started college. The first time was with my high school friends, also around November (back in 2004).
Then bla bla bla, bla bla bla, bla bla, bla blaaaa.
NOTE: I saved this as a draft but never got the time to finish it. Another wasted diary of me... I really am a procrastinator indeed. This blog should be purged by its owner a long time ago. Writing is not really meant for him.
